Result based ethics are probably what speaks to me the most, going against some spoken or unspoken rule to receive a result that is positive to the biggest amount of people will always win for me. Never in a way that is unethical but always in a way that it has a positive result.
Therefore logically I am an ethical relativist, I would never impose myself on ones culture nor would I try to convince one otherwise. I will remain true to my own moral standars but will always try my best to adhere to others as far as my own let me.
This goes for everything, the company that I will be working at in an ideal life should be one that is ethical, sustainable and quality focussed instead of profit focussed. The corporate governence of this company will satisfy my own morals and values. Should this be so, I would gladly give my very best capabilities toward the goals of said company.
I learned that without a proper corporate governence rules become unclear, bad things will happen and good people can lose a lot. Corporate governence is the big brother to any high flyer, to keep them down and to satisfy their ambitions whilst staying within reason. The dreamer and the realist which together can go to great lengths to achieve a common goal.
Through living abroad I also found my own ethical self, suddenly I knew my values and moralities, I learned to get to know myself better then ever before and respect other all the more for that. Therefore I believe that I can adhere to any corporate governence and value my own morals at the same time.
